BELLE Vue star Dan Bewley delivered a sensational unbeaten Easter Monday performance as the Aces outscored Leicester in their Knockout Cup double.

Bewley collected a 15-point maximum in an impressive 57-33 home victory for his side at lunchtime, securing his full house by passing Lions No.1 Ryan Douglas in the closing stages of Heat 15.

He was then unbeaten from six rides at the Hydroscand Arena in the evening, coming from the back on multiple occasions to rack up a 17+1 total.

The Lions won the reverse fixture 50-40, but it was the Aces who secured the aggregate point, leaving the group to be decided in the remaining fixtures between Sheffield and Leicester.

Zach Cook added 12+1 at home for Belle Vue with Peter Kildemand impressing with three wins to score ten in the East Midlands. Douglas top-scored for the Lions with 13 in Manchester, whilst skipper Sam Masters led a solid scorechart at home with 9+2.

Aces boss Mark Lemon said:

“Everyone chipped in at home, and it was a solid performance all-round with no weak links.

“We were full of optimism heading to Leicester and felt if we could continue in the same vein that an away win could be in the cards, but collectively we weren’t at the races in some cases.

“No real excuses, the track was good, the boys just didn’t find the correct set-ups, although Dan was absolutely sensational and Kildemand gave great back-up, but we just lacked a bit at the bottom end.”

Douglas said:

“We just wanted the win, it’s early days in the season and to get the win is nice. A few of us know we can still be better, but we can get rid of a few cobwebs and hopefully move forward from here.

“I’m No.1 at the minute and I feel I can do a job, and I know Sam can do a job against anyone around here. We’ll concentrate on doing our best, and if we work as a team we can definitely take it to anyone.”
